Experts from the Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) today presented Bulgaria's progress in attaining the 2020 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction target at the International Assessment of Progress held during the COP28 in Dubai.

Bulgaria has exceeded its 2020 GHG emission reduction target, together with other EU Member States.

The presentation of the achieved reductions, as well as the main climate change policies and measures, is an important reference for the effectiveness of our country's policy at global level to all Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement.

Following a presentation on progress, the panel was open to questions and answers from all 192 Parties. The MOEW Climate Change Policy Directorate team successfully responded to the interest and a series of questions from India, Australia, the UK, China, and others
