Children, Youth and Climate action – enhancing the joint efforts to respect and promote the rights of children and young people

Annotation
To recognize the role of champion governments and signatories of the Declaration on Children, Youth and Climate Action in promoting the fulfillment of children’s inalienable right to a healthy environment, and to take steps to enshrine these rights in the implementation of the Paris Agreement, in EU Member States’ national climate adaptation and mitigation measures, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), and long-term greenhouse gas emissions development strategies. 

UNICEF will moderate a discussion among the EU and ECA countries on the UNICEF Declaration on Children, Youth and Climate Action on commitments and priorities at national and regional level.
