The Minister of Environment and Water Julian Popov issued orders for the designation of fourteen protected areas for the conservation of natural habitats and wild flora and fauna. These include "Kamchia River", "Stara Reka", "Banska Reka", "Kayaliyka River", "Blatnitsa River", "Martinka River", "Omurovska River", "Pyasachnik River", "Golyama Kamchia", "Skut River", "Tsibritsa River", "Chernata mogila", "Blyagornitsa River", "Strandja River". Amendments and additions were made to the orders for declaring the protected areas "Shkorpilovtsi Beach" and "Galata".

The subject of protection in the protected areas are different types of natural habitats and habitats of species under the Biodiversity Act. The protected areas have been designated with the aim of protecting and maintaining the types of natural habitats, species, their populations and distribution within the areas, in order to achieve and maintain their favourable conservation status in the respective biogeographical region.

In the order for the designation of each of the protected areas, specific prohibitions for certain activities are introduced. They are to be promulgated in the State Gazette, after which they will be publicly available on the website of the Information System for Protected Areas of the Natura 2000 Ecological Network https://natura2000.egov.bg/.

Protected area BG0000141 "Kamchia River" has a territory of 1 593,633 acres and is located in the lands of villages Grozdyovo and Nova Shipka, Dolni Chiflik Municipality, Varna District, villages of Tsonevo and Velichkovo, Dalgopol municipality, Varna district.

Protected area BG0000279 "Stara Reka" has a territory of 3 348,057 acres and is located in the lands of the villages of Gorsko Novo Selo, Kalaydjii, Slilivovitsa and Sredno Selo, Zlataritsa municipality, Veliko Tarnovo district, the village of Dzhulyunitsa, Lyaskovets municipality, Veliko Tarnovo district, the villages of Bryagovitsa, Kesarevo and Temenuga, Strazhitsa municipality, Veliko Tarnovo district, the village of Borintsi, Kotel municipality, Sliven district, the villages of Bogomolsko, Velikovtsi, Kraipole, Mechovo, Ravno Selo, Stara Rechka, Stevrek and Cherna Voda, Antonovo municipality, Targovishte district.

Protected area BG0000434 "Banska Reka" has a territory of 807,163 acres and is located in the lands of the town of Dimitrovgrad, the villages of Dobrich and Kasnakovo, Dimitrovgrad municipality, Haskovo district, the village of Klokotnitsa, Haskovo municipality, Haskovo district.

Protected area BG0000435 "Kayaliyka River" has a territory of 736,696 acres and is located in the lands of the villages of Bodrovo, Skobelevo, Stalevo and Varbitsa, Dimitrovgrad municipality, Haskovo region, the village of Ezerovo, Parvomay municipality, Plovdiv region.

Protected area BG0000441 "Blatnitsa River" has a territory of 10 239,615 acres and is located in the lands of the villages of Bogdanovo, Dyadovo, Lake, Zagortsi, Kamenovo, Konyovo, Lyubenets and Lyubenova Mahala, the town of Nova Zagora, the villages of Omarchevo, Polsko Pudarevo, Stoil Voevoda and Sudievo, the municipality of Nova Zagora, the district of Sliven, the town of Radnevo, the municipality of Radnevo, the district of Stara Zagora.

Protected area BG0000442 "River Martinka" has a territory of 7 396,641 ha and is located in the lands of the village of Byal Izvor, Opan Municipality, Stara Zagora District, the villages of Vodenicharovo and Samuilovo, Stara Zagora Municipality, Stara Zagora District, the villages of Vinarovo, Dimitrievo and Malko Tranovo, Chirpan Municipality, Stara Zagora District, the villages of Brod, Bryast, Golyamo Asenovo, Zlatopolje, Radievo, and Stransko, Dimitrovgrad Municipality, Haskovo District.

Protected area BG0000443 "Omurovska River" has a territory of 8 191,050 hectares and is located in the lands of the villages of Bratia Daskalovi, Golyam Dol, Gorno Belevo, Gorno Novo Selo, Dolno Novo Selo, Malko Dryanovo, Markovo, Medovo, Malik Dol, Naidenovo, Partizanin, Plodovitovo, Slavyanin, Sarnevets and Cherna Gora, Brat'a Daskalovi municipality, Stara Zagora district, the village of Chekhlare, Brezovo municipality, Plovdiv district, the village of Gradina, Parvomay municipality, Plovdiv district.

Protected area BG0000444 "Pyasachnik River" has a territory of 14 127,484 acres and is located in the lands of the villages of Voyvodinovo, Graf Ignatyevo, Stroevo and Trud, Maritsa municipality, Plovdiv region, Plovdiv city, Plovdiv municipality, Plovdiv region, the villages of Golyam Chardak, Lyuben, Nedelevo, Tsarimir and Tseretelevo, Syedineniye municipality, Plovdiv region, the villages of Belovitsa, Panicheri and Starosel, Hisarya municipality, Plovdiv region.

Protected area BG0000501 "Golyama Kamchia" has a territory of 5 881,655 acres and is located in the lands of the villages of Arkovna, Boryana and Velichkovo, the town of Dalgopol, the villages of Kamen dyal, Komunari, Krasimir, Partizani and Tsonevo, the municipality of Dalgopol, the district of Varna, the town of Veliki Preslav, the villages of Milanovo, Troitsa and Khan Krum, Veliki Preslav municipality, Shumen region, Sushina village, Varbitsa municipality, Shumen region, Byal Bryag, Zhelad, Kulnovo and Novo Yankovo villages, Smyadovo town, Cherni Vrah and Yankovo villages, Smyadovo municipality, Shumen region, Ivanski, Marash, Radko Dimitrievo and Salmanovo villages, Shumen town, Shumen municipality, Shumen region.

Protected area BG0000508 "Skut River" has a territory of 3 994,963 acres and is located in the lands of the villages of Altimir, Galiche and Tarnava, Byala Slatina municipality, Vratsa district, the villages of Voivodovo, Krushovitsa and Lipnitsa, the town of Mizia, the village of Saraevo, Mizia municipality, Vratsa district.

Protected area BG0000509 "Tsibritsa" has a territory of 8 876,088 acres and is located in the lands of the town of Valchedrum, the village of Cherni Vrah, Valchedrum municipality, Montana region, the villages of Dolno Tserovene, Dalgodeltsi and Yakimovo, Yakimovo municipality, Montana region.

Protected area BG0000516 "Chernata Mogila" has a territory of 116,624 acres and is located in the lands of the village of Dragomirovo, Svishtov municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.

Protected area BG0000612 "Blagornitsa River" has a territory of 15 567,181 acres and is located in the lands of the town of Tvarditsa, the town of Shivachevo, the villages of Orizari and Sborishte, Tvarditsa municipality, Sliven region.

Protected area BG0001007 "Strandja" has a territory of 1 535 296,143 acres and is located in the lands of the villages of Bliznak, Ivyan, Byala Voda, Vizitsa, Gramatikovo, Evrenozovo, Zabernovo, Zvezdets and Kalovo, the town of Malko Tarnovo, the villages of Mladеzhko, Slivarovo and Stoilovo, Malko Tarnovo municipality, Burgas region, the town of Ahtopol, the villages of Brodilovo, Bulgari, Varvara, Velika, Izgrev, Kondolovo and Kosti, the town of Tsarevo, the villages of Rezovo, Sinemorets and Fazanovo, Tsarevo municipality, Burgas district, the village of Granichar, Sredets municipality, Burgas district, the village of Novo Panicharevo, Primorsko municipality, Burgas district.

Protected Area BG0000100 "Shkorpilovtsi Beach" has a territory of 64 569,967 acres and is located in the lands of the town of Byala, the villages of Goritsa and Samotino, Byala Municipality, Varna Region, the villages of Novo Oryahovo, Rudnik, Staro Oryahovo and Shkorpilovtsi, Dolni Chiflik Municipality, Varna Region.

Protected area BG0000103 "Galata" has a territory of 38 535,655 acres and is located in the lands of the village of Bliznatsi, Avren Municipality, Varna District, Varna City, Varna Municipality, Varna District.
