RIEW - Ruse inspected hazardous waste treatment sites in the three districts, which are in the territory under its control.

The experts carried out 12 inspections of such sites - 8 in Razgrad, one in Silistra, and 3 in Ruse. The inspections were requested by the law enforcement authorities and are carried out jointly with the police.

On inspection of a site in Aydemir (Silistra region), where end-of-life motor vehicles are stored, the necessary documents for the activity were not presented. The owner was provided with instructions, a deadline for submitting the documentation, and a summons for the receipt of a fine.

Violations were also found at a site in Ruse, in the area of the former Bimas plant, where waste chemical products were stored. The company has already been sanctioned by the inspectorate and a procedure for revoking the waste treatment permit is pending.
