A fire has broken out on the territory of the Rila Monastery Forest Reserve in the Rila Monastery Nature Park. Since yesterday, firefighters, park guards from both parks - Rila and Rila Monastery, forestry and municipal employees, as well as employees of the Rila Holy Monastery have been mobilized to locate and extinguish the fire in the area of the Ravna locality, which is on the territory of the Rila Monastery Forest Reserve.

A group of 15 firefighters, led by a representative of the Rila Holy Monastery, three employees from the Rila Monastery Nature Park, three - from the Rila National Park, and four - from the Rila Municipality, are patrolling the area today to extinguish local outbreaks.

At the moment, the fire has been contained and localized from all sides, with the flames covering about 300 square meters of mixed forest and grass.

The suspected cause of the fire is lightning.
