The Black Sea Region Basin Directorate (BSRBD) – Varna and the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water – Varna conducted a re-inspection on March 20 after receiving reports of dead birds and dolphins along the coast in the municipality of Shabla. The inspection was carried out together with the Regional Health Institute and the District Administration – Dobrich.

The BSRBD has been commissioned to examine water samples from the Shabla Lake area. The results of the tests will be announced in a timely manner upon receipt.

According to the Regional Food Safety Directorate – Dobrich, the samples taken for bird flu are negative. The Green Balkans Association also took samples for examination of dolphins and birds.
