Deputy Minister Dimitrov and local authorities discussed the use of mineral springs in the town of Vidin and the villages of Slanotran and Gradets

The Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Petar Dimitrov and the local government in the municipality of Vidin discussed the use of mineral springs in the eponymous town and the villages of Slanotran and Gradets. Deputy Minister Dimitrov spoke with representatives of the municipal management, administration officers, and specialists relevant to the use of mineral springs. On behalf of the municipality, the deputy mayors Tsvetomira Ilieva and Svetoslav Skorchev participated in the meeting, as well as eng. Rumen Lilov, head of the Department “Territory Planning”; eng. Violeta Georgieva, chief expert in “Ecology, landscaping and biodiversity”,  Vladimir Petkov, junior expert in “Technical infrastructure and improvement”, and Vyara Naydenova, legal consultant.

Deputy Minister Dimitrov expressed his support for the municipality’s initiative and pointed out that he is visiting in order to familiarize himself with the difficulties experienced by the local government so as to provide assistance within the realm of his powers. The participants in the meeting discussed the procedure for issuing a permit for water abstraction from the “Vidin”, “Slanoturn”, and “Gradec” mineral water deposits. The Municipality of Vidin finances the development of projects for the construction of drilling sites at the three deposits with funds from its own budget.
