“The Black Sea habitat is unique on global scale and must be protected, because any change in the environment affects it negatively. We all have to contribute to taking care of this water body.” This was said by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Petar Dimitrov, who joined the cleaning of the “Bolata” area, together with experts from the Black Sea Region Basin Directorate and 60 volunteers.

“We join this campaign with great desire. Such initiatives fully coincide the priorities of the Ministry of Environment and Water,” added Dimitrov. He highlighted that we should protect the natural heritage for the generations to come. “The purpose of such initiatives is to educate young people that nature should be protected and they yield results. With each campaign - not a year, but a campaign, the amount of the waste becomes less and less,” said Petar Dimitrov with conviction.

The waste collected during initiative was mainly household waste - plastic bottles, parts of ropes and scraps. The volunteers collected a total of 50 bags. The Municipality of Kavarna has arranged for their removal.
