The results of samples from October 20th and 21st, taken from a coastal point 60 m South of the run-aground ship “Vera Su” and from a point next to the bow of the ship, have been analyzed.

The data analysis show almost a double decrease in the values of monitored indicators at the two points compared to previous sampling results. The decrease can be explained by the change in the direction of currents and the wind. However, measured concentrations of ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, and nitrite nitrogen are three times higher than the trend observed in the region a week ago.

MOEW teams continue to follow the condition of Black Sea water on a daily basis in the immediate vicinity of the stranded ship “Vera Su” as part of the monitoring efforts for the operation of cargo transhipment.
