  • The project is to be implemented under the Environment Program 2021-2027.

The Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov and the Mayor of Kaspichan Zlatin Tsenkov signed a contract for the construction of a municipal system for the separate collection and recycling of biodegradable waste.

The total investment amount is over 1 million BGN. The grant provided by the Environment Program 2021-2027 is over 670000 BGN.

The current project envisages the construction of a system for the separate collection and transportation of food and green/garden waste in the amount of 846.54 tons per year and a composting plant for the recycling of separately collected biowaste.

The plant will be built in two branches: branch 1 will serve mainly for composting food waste, with an expected capacity of 395 tons per year. Branch 2 will be used for composting garden, green, and wood waste, which will be mixed in an appropriate ratio, according to a pre-developed recipe. The treatment of green waste will be carried out in closed composting cells. The design capacity of Branch 2 will be approximately 452 tons per year.

The project is to be implemented under the procedure "Measures for the construction, expansion and/or upgrading of municipal/regional systems for separate collection and recycling of biodegradable waste", under the priority "Waste" of the Environment Program 2021-2027.

The planned implementation period for the activities is 20 months.
