The Minister of Environment and Water Asen Lichev approved the methodological guidelines for the development of municipal/regional waste management plans.

The guidelines are designed to assist local authorities in developing waste management plans for the period 2021-2028, which is the period of validity for the National Waste Management Plan. The document provides methodological guidelines for the actions to be taken by municipalities at each stage of the preparation, coordination, and adoption of the plans. The guidelines are intended for use by all municipalities in Bulgaria but are not mandatory.
