Deputy Prime Minister for Climate Policy and Minister of Environment and Water Borislav Sandov met with the Ambassador of Egypt H.E. Mr. Khalid Emara.

The two discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of environmental protection and water, with a focus on climate change. Ambassador Emara briefed Minister Sandov on the forthcoming 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be hosted by Egypt in November this year.

Minister Sandov noted that climate change is an important priority for the Bulgarian government and he will work actively for the adoption of measures for mitigation of negative effects and adaptation.

During the conversation, Ambassador Emara expressed readiness for cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources, as well as presented ideas for future partnership.
