Monitoring conducted by both countries independently show that there is no present or expected deterioration in marine water quality

The Minister  of Environment and Water Julian Popov held a video call today with Romanian Minister of Environment and Forestry Mircea Fechet.

The two discussed the coordinated actions between the two countries in relation to the monitoring of marine environment following the destruction of the dam near Nova Kakhovka in Ukraine.

During the conversation, the ministers exchanged information on the ongoing monitoring conducted on the territory of Bulgaria and Romania. They agreed to exchange monitoring results on a daily basis. So far, monitoring efforts in both countries show that there is no present or expected deterioration in Black Sea water quality.

Ministers Popov and Fechet agreed that the dispersal of manipulated information among the public should be prevented. The two will meet on 20 June in Luxembourg during the Environment Council, whereby they will discuss other issues of mutual interest.
