The Minister of Environment and Water Julian Popov took part in a working meeting initiated by the Minister of Energy Traycho Traykov with the participation of the Minister of Economy and Industry Irina Shtonova.

The meeting was held with representatives of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Federation of Industrial Energy Consumers and aimed to discuss the possibilities for limiting the negative effects of high electricity prices on enterprises with energy-intensive production, as well as for providing support for energy-saving technologies in the industry.

The participants united around the need to renew the technological park with the support of the state. The conversation also focused on the need to implement innovative solutions in order to reduce excessive consumption, which currently weighs on production costs and makes production more expensive for end customers.

The discussion emphasized the belief that support for the business is coupled with overcoming the technological lag and achieving real energy efficiency, which is the only way to reduce price pressure on consumers in the long term.
