“The goal is one and it is to achieve decarbonization of the Bulgarian economy by 2050. Now is the time to take concrete decisions, to define common positions, to draw a clear vlueprint to follow, so that we have sustainable solutions to achieve sustainable results and guarantee a sustainable future for our country,” said the Minister of Environment and Water Rositsa Karamfilova at the round table on the topic “Bulgarian Energy Strategy 2023-2053”, organized by the Ministry of Energy.

Minister Karamfilova noted that each of the priorities outlined by the Ministry of Energy in Bulgaria’s new energy strategy until 2053 is related to investment intentions. Each of these will be scrutinized thoroughly and uncompromisingly through the prism of environmental legislation, so from the point of view of environmental protection, no compromise will be made.

“There is a lot of work ahead of us, work in partnership. I thank the Minister of Energy for not underestimating the issue of environmental responsibilities. On the contrary, the leading arguments focus precisely on how to achieve decarbonization in strict compliance with environmental legislation,” concluded Minister Karamfilova.
