Deputy Ministers Emilia Toncheva, eng. Petar Dimitrov, Valeria Kalcheva, Chief of Staff to the Minister Polya Pencheva, as well as the Advisor to the Minister for issues pertinent to the activities in the Executive Environment Agency (EEA) Vanya Grigorova, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Water Klimentina Deneva will support the Minister of Environment and Water Asen Lichev in his work.

Deputy Minister Emilia Toncheva will be responsible for national parks and the “National Service for Environmental Protection”, “Climate Change Policy”, and “European Union Affairs and International Cooperation Coordination” directorates.

The responsibilities of Deputy Minister Petar Dimitrov will include the basin directorates, the regional inspectorates for environment and water, the „Water Management“, „National Coordination Center“, and „Environmental Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment and Pollution Prevention“ directorates.

Deputy Minister Valeria Kalcheva will manage the Operational Program “Environment” (OPE), the Enterprise for Management of Environmental Protection Activities (EMEPA), and the “Clean Air Protection” and “Waste Management and Soil Protection” directorates.
