Minister Manol Genov changed the monthly schedule for the Studena Dam - the volume should not exceed 24.20 million m³
28 Nov, 2025 | 18:08The Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov approved an amendment to the monthly schedule for the use of the waters of the Studena Dam, which sets a maximum allowable volume of 24.20 million m³. As of today, the available water volume in the dam is 23.289 million m³.
The change was made upon a request by the Water and Sewerage Company – Pernik to update the monthly schedule due to the need to release a volume to accommodate the expected inflow. The request is motivated by the need for a controlled decrease in the dam water level, given the ongoing rainfall and the increasing available volume.
In order to prevent harmful impacts from high waters, Minister Genov ordered coordinated and joint actions to be taken between the Water and Sewerage Company – Pernik, the Regional Governor of the Pernik region, the Mayor of Pernik Municipality, and “Irrigation Systems” EAD.
