Minister Manol Genov met with the Ambassador of Greece

The Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov met with the Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria, His Excellency Alexios Marios Liberopoulos.

The two discussed bilateral and regional cooperation with a focus on environmental security and projects of mutual interest. Minister Genov pointed out that the relations between Bulgaria and Greece, as EU member states and NATO allies, represent an axis of stability and shared values ​​in our challenging regional context.

The Minister acquainted the Ambassador with the future priorities of the government in the field of the environment, emphasizing policies related to improving the quality of life and well-being of the population on a national, regional, and European scale.

Ambassador Liberopoulos raised the issue of receipt of regulated quantities of water from the Arda River. Minister Genov replied that the issue for this season could be resolved with a temporary trade agreement, whereby the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria is to play a leading role.
