The Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov met yesterday with the Ambassador of Ukraine in Sofia, Her Excellency Olesya Ilashchuk. The two discussed current issues of the bilateral relations in the field of environment.

Ambassador Olesya Ilashchuk received assurances from Minister Manol Genov that Bulgaria will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in the field of environmental security, which is an important part of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Peace Formula.

Minister Genov confirmed the institution’s readiness to provide full expert support under the “Environment” chapter for the country’s accession to the European Union and the transposition of EU directives and regulations into Ukrainian legislation. “Bulgaria can be a useful partner for you,” said Minister Genov. Ambassador Ilashchuk thanked for the support and readiness for good cooperation between the two countries in the future.
