Minister Manol Genov met with the Minister of Environment of Armenia, Hambardzum Matevosyan
20 Jan, 2026 | 15:16The Minister of Environment and Water of the Republic of Bulgaria Manol Genov had a meeting with the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia Hambardzum Matevosyan.
During the online meeting, the two discussed priorities in the field of environmental protection and water resources management, sustainable water use and the importance of regional and cross-border cooperation in the context of climate change.
Both sides expressed their readiness to deepen the dialogue and develop the partnership in the field of environment, including through exchange of experience and expert cooperation on the implementation of policies for sustainable management of natural resources and adaptation to climate change.
During the conversation, the good basis for bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Armenia within the framework of the Eastern Partnership - a key initiative by the European Union to deepen political and sectoral relations with the countries of Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus was emphasized. Bulgaria consistently supports the goals of the initiative, aimed at convergence with European policies and standards, sustainable development and building administrative capacity.
It was noted that as a member state of the European Union, Bulgaria has practical experience in the pre-accession process and the implementation of European legislation, which can be shared in support of Armenia's reforms and dialogue with the EU, including through the exchange of expertise and good practices.
