Minister Rositsa Karamfilova and the Minister of Environment of North Macedonia Nasser Nuredini agreed on cooperation on future joint projects

The Minister of Environment and Water Rositsa Karamfilova met with the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning of North Macedonia Nasser Nuredini. The meeting took place today in the fringes of the Ninth Ministerial Conference “Environment for Europe”, which is held in Nicosia, Cyprus. The two agreed on future joint projects and deepening of expert cooperation in the field of environment and climate between Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

Both expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of the project “Strengthening the institutional and administrative capacity for negotiations under Chapter 27 ‘Environment’ of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia and its regional structures in the process of accession to the EU” (financed by the “International Development Cooperation” program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Within the framework of the project, six training seminars were held with experts in the field of environment and climate from the Republic of North Macedonia.

Minister Karamfilova noted as successful the active participation in the meetings and the exchanged information and good practices, which contribute to deepening expert cooperation in the field of environment and climate between the two countries.

Ministers Karamfilova and Nuredini emphasized that the results of the meetings so far will be sustainable, and this established good practice will continue in the future through the implementation of new joint projects.
