Minister Sandov issued an order to activate the operational units of the Basin Directorates due to the upcoming rainfall

The Deputy Prime Minister for Climate Policies and Minister of Environment and Water Borislav Sandov commissioned the respective structures to prepare due to the meteorological forecast for expected heavy rainfall. The Minister issued an order to activate the operational units of the Basin Directorates, to change the schedule of dams, and to inform all competent authorities.

During the next 24 hours, under the influence of a Mediterranean cyclone passing south of the country, a intense rain is expected. In Western and Southern Bulgaria and the Pre-Balkans, the amounts of precipitation will reach 30-50 mm, locally in the Rhodope region and Ihtimanska Sredna Gora - about 80-100 mm. A detailed weather forecast is published on the website of the Ministry, as well as on the website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). According to forecasts, the risk of floods, landslides, and other disasters is high.

Citizens are advised to take into account the forecasts for potentially dangerous phenomena that could occur tomorrow and over the next two weekends.
