Environment and Water Minister Yuliyan Popov took over the post from Rositsa Karamfilova at a symbolic ceremony on Tuesday at the Ministry of Environment and Water.

When accepting the key to the ministry, Yuliyan Popov noted that the ministry employs people with proven expertise. “I am delighted to return to this ministry. Years back I got convinced that competent experts work here, I am sure that working together will lead to good results,” said Minister Popov.

Rositsa Karamfilova handed over the post to the Minister with the message to act as a guardian of the environment, guided by morality, high spirit, and responsibility. “I am happy to pass the baton to you as you know the system and the team. I trust that you will maintain the professionalism and capacities and continue to work for ambitious goals,” said Rositsa Karamfilova.

The two discussed the most pressing issues to be addressed in the short term.
