*Information about the initiative

In implementation of the Ministry of Environment and Water's policy on transparency, consistent actions are being taken to ensure free access to primary

 environmental monitoring data.

The initiative is a priority for the Minister of Environment and Water Julian Popov and aims to ensure that data collected with public funds is truly accessible and usable by the scientific community, the business, institutions, and society. The MOEW system generates significant volumes of data on water, air, and climate, which are gradually published in a structured and user-friendly form through specialized portals and national platforms.

Open data is free, publicly available, and provided in a machine-readable format, which allows for use, sharing and analysis. Primary data are collected directly from the source without pre-processing and have the highest value, as they allow for independent analysis and informed decision-making.
