Министър Юлиян Попов продължава диалога с бизнеса за прилагането на ЕСТЕ 1, ЕСТЕ 2 и CBAM
16 Apr, 2026 | 18:10A second working meeting was held at the Ministry of Environment and Water with representatives of Bulgarian industry regarding the implementation of the ETS 1, ETS 2, and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) emissions trading schemes.
The Minister of Environment and Water Julian Popov and experts from the Ministry discussed specific proposals from the business sector for changes that would ensure a smooth transition and protect the competitiveness of Bulgarian manufacturers.
The drafting of final conclusions that reflect the sector’s needs and are to be presented to the European institutions remains a key priority.
“We are continuing the constructive dialogue in search of balance between environmental goals and the country’s economic stability,” said Minister Julian Popov.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Association of Agricultural Producers in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Cement Industry Association, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Association of the Metallurgical Industry, the Economic and Social Council, the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, and the Thrace Economic Zone.
