The Minister of Environment and Water Asen Lichev issued an order for the designation of new trails for visitors in the “Sredoka” Reserve. The reserve is located on the territory of the Strandzha Nature Park within the land of Malko Tarnovo and the village of Stoilovo (Malko Tarnovo municipality).

The trails will be marked by RIEW-Burgas with signs and information tables on the ground. The trails will provide connections between the settlements in the area and important landmarks in the reserve, while ensuring the protection of valuable natural heritage within it. Some of the trails give access to the sanctuary of St. Marina, which is also in the Strandzha Mountains and is an object of great interest for visitors.

The ”Sredoka” Reserve is located on the steep Northern slopes of the lower reaches of the Mechi Dol River. The terrain is very picturesque, with steep slopes, the meandering river, alternating pools, rapids, and waterfalls. The reserve was declared in order to preserve the forest ecosystems typical for the region, and habitats of rare and endangered plant and animal species.

Much of the protected area is occupied by forests, which are dominated by mixed oak or mixed Eastern Beech, Eastern Gorun, and Blagun oak. Тhe evergreen relics - the red pyracantha, the laurel, the cup-shaped bell, the Pontic rabid tree, and others, are widespread. Of great conservation value is the large laurel deposit located in the central part of the reserve and the compact groups of Ilex Colchica. A large number of higher plants have been identified, some of which are protected.
