No air quality standards exceeded following the fire near Stara Zagora
31 May, 2026 | 11:40No exceedances of air quality standards were detected following the fire near Stara Zagora. The fire, which broke out at a waste treatment site near the village of Hrishteni, was contained late yesterday evening.
The “Zelen Klin” automatic monitoring station (AMS), which is part of the national real-time air quality monitoring system in Stara Zagora, has not recorded any exceedances of the monitored parameters.
The parameters are being continuously monitored, and the results currently show no risk to public health. The Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water (RIЕВ) – Stara Zagora assures the public that they can rest assured and will be promptly informed of any changes in air quality data.
For additional monitoring and tracking of air quality parameters, continuous 72-hour measurements are also being conducted using a mobile automatic monitoring station located near the kindergarten in the city’s “Samara” neighborhood.
The Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water (RIЕВ) - Stara Zagora continues to monitor the situation with heightened attention.
