There is no evidence of pollution in the Bulgarian waters in Black Sea after the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine. The Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW), together with the Ukrainian, Moldovan, and Romanian authorities, exchange information on a daily basis on potential pollution in the Black Sea. The Black Sea Basin Directorate and the Executive Environmental Agency are also monitoring additional indicators of potential impact following the incident.

Satellite observations and mathematical modelling of water currents in the Black Sea currently do not point to any cause for concern, and if a potential risk is identified, preventive action will be taken and the population will be informed.
