There are no exceedances of ceilings for air indicators in the Bobov Dol TPP area after the fire that occurred yesterday evening at the plant. The data at both measurement points of the monitored indicators reported values below the ambient air quality ceilings and no exceedances have been established.

Due to the fire in a transformer on the territory of the TPP, the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Sofia requested from the Executive Environment Agency (EEA) to measure the following air indicators with an emergency device Gasmet DX 4040: sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and benzene (С6Н6). Measurements were carried out at two points in the village of Golemo Selo as follows:

- from 00:05 to 00:45 on 21.07.2025 - next to the city hall building;

- from 00:55 to 01:35 on 21.07.2025 – next to the closest house to the power plant.

The data indicate that at both measurement points the values of these indicators are below their detection limits and no exceedances have been established.

Preliminary data from the Automatic Measuring Station in the village of Golemo Selo also do not show exceedances of the ambient air quality ceilings.

At 20:50 on July 20, a fire broke out in the power plant in a transformer at Energy Boiler 1, which was stopped and taken out of operation. The fire was completely extinguished around 22:00. The signal about the fire was received by the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Sofia, which formed a team last night and, together with experts from the General Directorate "Laboratory Analytical Activity" at the External Environment Agency, began an on-site inspection. A process was coordinated to measure the air quality indicators and to position a mobile automatic station in the village of Golemo Selo.

The inspection continues, and a detailed analysis will be made of all findings from the monitoring at the company's industrial site and outside it. Photos, monitor recordings, and diaries provided during this inspection are also being monitored.

The Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Sofia will continue to inform the public about the results of the control actions carried out.
