No exceedances of air quality indicators in Sliven after the car morgue fire
16 Oct, 2025 | 21:38The Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) informs that according to data from the automatic measuring station for monitoring atmospheric air quality in the city of Sliven, managed by the Executive Environment Agency (EEA), no increase or exceedance of the monitored indicators had been reported after the fire that broke out in the car morgue near the city.
The fire has engulfed the administrative building of the site and has partially affected car parts. Seven teams of the Regional Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection - Sliven are working on site. According to information from the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Stara Zagora, the wind is not directed towards the city. The Regional Inspectorate is working in coordination with all institutions involved in containing the fire.
A mobile automatic measuring station of the EEA will also be located in the area of the fire to carry out additional measurements of air quality in the area.
The MOEW, through its structures - the RIEW and the EEA, continues to monitor the situation and, if necessary, will inform the public in a timely manner.
