No pollution of the marine environment has been detected from the sunken fishing boat in Maslen Nos

The Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) informs that in connection with the sunken fishing vessel in the Black Sea water area, no data on marine environment pollution has been established at the moment.

According to information from the Black Sea Region Basin Directorate - Varna, on February 19, 2026, a speedboat from the Executive Agency for Maritime Administration (EAMA), together with an inspector from the Directorate for Maritime Administration - Burgas, inspected the water area. During the inspection, no oil pollution was found. The Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture (EAFA) also inspected the area for which information about a possible oil spill had been received, but the presence of such has not been confirmed.

The Ministry of Environment and Water maintains constant coordination with all competent institutions. Monitoring of the marine environment continues, and if necessary, immediate actions will be taken in accordance with the current legislation. The Black Sea Region Basin Directorate - Varna regularly monitors the marine environment.
