“Our energy, our planet” is Earth Day’s message
21 Apr, 2025 | 13:20- On April 22 we celebrate the global initiative for the 55th time
On April 22, we celebrate Earth Day with the theme “Our energy, our planet”. Mass unification of people has always been at the heart of Earth Day and is the catalyst for a change in mindset, because when people unite with a common goal, they can overcome even the greatest challenges.
This year’s campaign theme calls for harnessing the potential of renewable energy to build a healthy, sustainable and equitable future for all. This can be made possible by transitioning to renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydroelectric, tidal, or geothermal).
Renewable energy can be a powerful force, uniting different countries, regions, and communities, even when they have political and economic differences. Clean energy transcends ideological boundaries and can spark a humanitarian revolution – for the first time in history, there is the possibility of providing virtually unlimited energy at low cost for all.
This year marks the 55th anniversary of the initiative. Over a billion people and 192 countries around the world will participate in various campaigns and activities dedicated to protecting the planet. For 55 years, Earth Day has been among the world's leading campaigns in raising awareness and taking action on critically important environmental issues.
The power of this movement lies in its mass nature. It is the collective voice of citizens that pushes governments and corporations to make bold commitments and take decisive action. By engaging in public initiatives and making sustainable choices in their daily lives, people are the catalysts for change. Everyone can become part of the solution to create a cleaner, more equitable energy future for all.
The Ministry of Environment and Water, through its regional structures, is participating in the global Earth Day campaign with a variety of activities and initiatives across the country in support of the global environmental movement.
