In response to the media interest for details on the MOEW deficit announced by the Minister of Environment and Water Mr. Asen Lichev, we would like to clarify that the deficit results from 8.5 million BGN overdue liabilities, which have become inadmissible under a project funded by Operational Program “Environment” and 2.1 million BGN from a contract signed by the Executive Environment Agency (EEA) without secured funding.

An inspection is currently underway by the State Financial Inspection Agency.
