The restoration and normalization of people’s lives after the floods in the Municipality of Karlovo in 2022 is a priority for the Ministry of Environment and Water, the RIEW-Plovdiv, and the Basin Directorate for the East-Aegean Region.

That is why RIEW-Plovdiv has issued opinions on all 16 investment proposals submitted by the municipality of Karlovo for the restoration of infrastructure and cleaning of riverbeds and ravines in the villages of Bogdan, Karavelovo, and Slatina - affected by the floods last year.

The Basin Directorate has received 5 new applications for permits, which will be processed within the legal 20-day deadline.

The Ministry of Environment and Water does not fund restoration and repair projects.

The implementation of the specific repair and restoration activities, for which opinions have been issued by RIEW - Plovdiv, is within the competence of the Mayor of the Municipality of Karlovo.
