For the seventeenth consecutive year, the National Trust Ecofund announced the 2023 Literary Competition in the name of Mimi Pramatarova - the first director of the Rila National Park and the brightest individual in the field of environmental protection in Bulgaria.

The initiative is aimed at stimulating creativity in environmental protection in a variety of fields. Every year, the competition is announced for secondary school students in the genres of verse, poem, story, and essay and is held jointly by the Rila National Park Directorate and the foundation “Ecological Forum Plus”.

This year’s topic - "Wildflower Dreams" - is accompanied by the following questions:

Can wildflowers dream? Do they have their own story, friends, family? Do they know why they exist on this world and do they know how to love? Can they talk? When are they born and do they ever die? Since they are wild and no one has bothered to change their color or make them bigger, are they beautiful? What is their beauty? And do we, humans, understand their language? How do we learn about their dreams? Many questions awaiting answers from the youth of Bulgaria who love the wild nature.

The deadline for submitting literary works is May 10, 2023.

Information about the competition, an invitation with the rules for participation and an application form are published at the following link.

The awards will be announced on June 6th, 2023.
