The quality of air in the Sredets region is improving. This is shown by the first data from the Mobile Automatic Station (MAS) located in the city.

Teams of the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water and the Regional Laboratory - Burgas at the Executive Environment Agency (EEA) continue to be on site and to carry out constant air monitoring.

The levels of the measured indicators: carbon monoxide, methane, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, PM, and ozone have decreased significantly, but the levels are still unstable and vary due to changes in wind direction and atmospheric pressure. In order to analyze the results, it is necessary for the Mobile Automatic Station to carry out the measurements within a period of 24 hours, taking into account the average daily norms.

The fire has already been completely extinguished. Teams of the Regional Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection and the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Burgas remain on duty. All involved institutions in the crisis headquarters are working in close coordination to control the situation and protect public health.

The Ministry of Environment and Water, through the control and data collection by the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water, will continue to inform the public about air quality and the development of the situation in the town of Sredets.
