The government decided to amend the lists of protected areas for the protection of natural habitats and of wild flora and fauna. The amendments specify the boundaries of 44 protected areas for protection of natural habitats from the “Natura 2000” network.

An analysis has been done to specify the boundaries of all currently undeclared protected areas for habitats in relation to the location of the subject of the protection on their territory. The changes are necessary because in the initial delimitation of the areas it was not possible to use accurate cadastral data (M 1: 5000) and other sources with significantly less accuracy within the scale required by the European Commission (M 1: 100,000) were used.

Inaccuracies have thus been eliminated on the basis of the best currently available information, which allowed the declared boundaries to correspond to the objectives of the Habitats Directive. The decision increases the total coverage of the network of protected areas for habitats by 0.003% of the national territory.
