The Launching national roundtable will be held under the contract to define specific objectives and measures for protected areas from the Natura 2000 network
29 Sep, 2025 | 13:09On 30.09.2025 from 10:00 to 16:30, the Launching National Roundtable will be held under the contract for determining specific objectives and measures for protected areas of the Natura 2000 network. The contract is part of the implementation of the Project "Integration of the ecosystem approach and implementation of nature-based solutions in the protection of protected areas of the Natura 2000 network", which will be financed by the "Environment 2021 - 2027" Program and will work in two main directions:
- "Definition of specific objectives and measures for protected areas of the Natura 2000 network";
- "Completion of the process of mapping and assessment of the state of ecosystems and their services, and of the green infrastructure on the territory of the Natura 2000 network, as well as a monetary assessment of ecosystems and their services".
The contracting authority is the Ministry of Environment and Water, and the contractor of the activities under the first direction is the "Dikon-Particip" Consortium.
The event aims to present to interested institutions and organizations the main stages in the implementation of the activities under the first direction, the expected results thereof, as well as to clarify the requirements of the European Commission for the development of the documents. The definition of specific objectives and measures for the protected areas of the Natura 2000 network is a key element of the implementation of European nature conservation legislation, in particular the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the Birds Directive (2009/147/EC). The objectives are formulated on the basis of the priority elements of the area (species and habitats), the available scientific data and results of monitoring, assessment of the nature conservation status and of the main threats and pressures on the target sites. The objectives serve as a basis for the development and implementation of adequate measures for the management of the areas.
