The Minister of Environment and Water Rositsa Karamfilova met with the Chargée d’Affairs of the German Embassy in Sofia Mrs. Irene Plank.

The two discussed current issues related to the upcoming 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which will be held on November 6-18, 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

During the conversation, EU-level priorities and the preparation of a pan-European position for the upcoming conference were emphasized. It was underlined that countries need to take coordinated action to achieve a sustainable outcome at the global level.

The two sides expressed readiness to maintain the ambitions for greenhouse gas emissions reduction and adopt the necessary legislation for their implementation.
