The Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) has published on its website Guidelines on the scope and content of programs under Article 53(1) of the Waste Management Act (WMA) for waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The main purpose of the guidelines is to assist recovery organizations and individuals who intend to fulfill their obligations on their own in preparing the programs under Article 53(1) of the WMA, which are required to obtain a permit under the Act.

The document serves as a practical guide for drafting these programs, systematizing the regulatory requirements for their content and providing a detailed checklist of all mandatory elements. Thus, applicants have a convenient tool for preliminary self-assessment of the quality and completeness of the prepared documents even before submitting them to the Ministry of Environment and Water.

By publishing these guidelines, the Ministry of Environment and Water provides applicants for permits with a clear and practical tool for preparing high-quality programs and successfully navigating the permitting process. The goal is to facilitate applicants’ preparation, improve the quality of the submitted documentation, reduce the need for subsequent corrections and additions, and contribute to a more efficient, transparent, and predictable conduct of administrative procedures.
