The Ministry of Environment and Water is the main partner for the bTV initiative “Let’s clean Bulgaria together”. The large-scale volunteer campaign will take place on September 17 (Saturday). It aims to build public awareness about environmental protection.

The Minister with her team and employees of the MOEW, the Enterprise for Management of Environmental Protection Activities, the Executive Agency for Environment, the National Environmental Trust Fund, the 15 regional inspectorates, the 3 national parks, and the 4 basin directorates will participate in the initiative.

With the financial support by the MOEW of nearly 84 000 BGN through the Enterprise for Management of Environmental Protection Activities 40 000 waste bags and 40 000 pairs of disposable gloves have been provided through. 3 500 fuel vouchers were distributed to the regional administrations for transporting collected waste.

On the day of the initiative, experts from the Ministry of Environment and Water will summarize the data on the collected amounts of waste. The waste will be deposited at regional waste management systems.

The municipalities are exempted from deductions and guarantees under the Waste Management Act for the amounts of deposited waste collected during the campaign.
