The MOEW expresses gratitude to the 17 municipalities and all Bulgarian participants in the European mobility week 202101 Oct, 2021 | 14:12
Seventeen Bulgarian municipalities and cities participated in the 20th edition of the European Mobility Week 2021. The campaign encourages local authorities to introduce and support measures for sustainable transport and constitutes an opportunity to improve air quality in cities and ensure sustainable environmental solutions for the urban environment. The participating municipalities for 2021 are: Asenovgrad, Banite, Bansko, Beloslav, Burgas, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Dryanovo, Pavlikeni, Pleven, Ruse, Sandanski, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Strazhitsa, Targovishte.
Among them, only Sofia Municipality participates simultaneously with all three types of measures promoted by the initiative - organizing various activities within the European Mobility Week, introducing permanent measures to promote sustainable mobility, and holding a Car-Free Day. The fulfillment of all three criteria for participation gives right to Sofia Municipality to apply for the European Mobility Week awards.
Nineteen are the mobile activities registered on the European Mobility Week platform for 2021 by Bulgarian participants. The participants are: Kindergarten “Valentina Tereshkova” - Batanovtsi, Kindergarten “Valentina Tereshkova” - Varna, the Executive Environment Agency, the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water - Plovdiv, “Kiril Hristov” Elementary School - Stara Zagora, “Nayden Gerov” Elementary School - Varna, “Stoyan Zaimov” Elementary School - Pleven, “Hristo Botev” Elementary School - Sungurlare, the Union of Transport Trade Unions in Bulgaria, the Center for Urban Mobility, and many commercial companies.
The Ministry of Environment and Water, as the national coordinator for the celebration of the European Mobility Week in Bulgaria, expresses gratitude to all those who joined with initiatives for sustainable mobility.
