Upon inspection, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Environment and Water found in RIEW – Haskovo a number of violations and serious gaps in the application of environmental legislation.

The report from the inspection has been referred to the Prosecutor’s office. The director of the regional inspectorate was released and his responsibilities will be carried out by a temporary acting director.

The inspection was initiated on signals received at the MOEW.

The inspectorate also found a number of violations related to appointments.

In cases of suspected violations, checks will be undertaken immediately. The leadership of the ministry will use all powers provided by the law to hold the offenders accountable and stop such practices.
