The protection of the brown bear species to be discussed by the MOEW, EFA and NGOs

On June 18 (Friday) the meeting with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) at the Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) will be thematic - on the protection of the endangered species of brown bears (Ursus arctos). The management of the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Executive Forest Agency (EFA) at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and NGO representatives will meet in relation to the bear cubs found in the past ten days in the region of Smolyan.

The Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Emilia Toncheva invited the Director of EFA Alexander Dunchev to join the working meeting. Also invited were the directors of the South Central State Enterprise еng. Zdravko Bakalov, and the Regional Directorate of Forestry – Smolyan еng. Ventsislav Furlanski. The Ministry of Environment and Water also extends an invitation to representatives of state forestry and hunting farms, hunting associations, and non-governmental organizations involved in the issues of brown bear protection.

The traditional meetings with NGOs are held at the MOEW every Friday at 2p.m. on initiative by the Minister of Environment and Water Asen Lichev.
