The reports for the Mid-Term Review of Significant Water Management Issues have been published

The Mid-Term Review of Significant Water Management Issues for all River Basin Management Districts have been published for public consultation.

As a next step in the update of the River Basin Management Plans (RBMPs) 2028-2033, Mid-Term Review of Significant Water Management Issues reports have been prepared for each River Basin Management District.

The aim of the Mid-Term Review is to inform and provide for comments to the public and stakeholders the most important challenges in water management in each of the River Basin Management Districts and ways to address these.

The participation of representatives of all economic sectors and the public in the discussion of the reports is of key importance for the formation of suitable and balanced solutions aimed at achieving the objectives of good water status while ensuring sustainable socio-economic development, which will be taken into account in the development of the plans.

The consultation period for each of the reports is six months from the date of publication under the Water Act and the consultations will continue accordingly:

  • For the Black Sea region – until 29.06.2026;
  • For the Danube region – until 29.07.2026;
  • For the West Aegean region – until 02.08.2026;
  • For the East Aegean region – until 04.08.2026
