The site for the installation of an automatic measuring station for air quality in Ruse has been determined by a protocol from 31st May  2021 by a working group consisting of experts from the Municipality of Ruse, the MOEW, the Executive Environment Agency (EEA), RIEW-Ruse, and the Regional Laboratory-Ruse with the EEA.

The Municipality of Ruse had offered 3 sites and upon inspection by the working group the site in the special education school “Dr. Petar Beron” was chosen. The location meets the requirements of the Ordinance on standards for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, fine particles, lead, benzene, carbon monoxide, and ozone in ambient air. The choice of the location for the municipal monitoring point for air quality is based on signals submitted by citizens for unpleasant odors of organic compounds, characteristic for and emitted by industrial enterprises in the city of Ruse.

We remind you that on May 18th the Minister of Environment and Water Asen Lichev promised at a meeting with the Mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov that the site will be determined by June 4th. Minister Lichev ordered the procedure to be started immediately and the location of the site is already a fact.
