The deadline for announcing the winner in the first edition of the competition “Green Support for a Sustainable Future” is November 16th, 2021. Information about the ranking will be published on the websites of the MOEW, the EEA, and the EMEPA.

The prize for the winner is an annual financial support in the amount of 2,970 BGN, provided by the Enterprise for Management of Environmental Protection Activities. The competition is conducted by the Executive Environment Agency, which announced its first edition for the academic year 2021-2022.

On the initiative by Minister Asen Lichev, “Green Support for a Sustainable Future” will be held every year as part of the European Commission’s “European Mobility Week” campaign (September 16th-22nd). The competition encourages students to present an original, consistent, and science-based approach to addressing the challenges of the urban environment and mobility in their essays/short proposals.

The aim of the competition is to support young people who have chosen to study in fields of higher education related to environmental protection and sustainable development. The challenges of a sustainable future on a global scale in Bulgaria require the adoption of key decisions and actions by well-educated and trained “green” leaders.
