Minister Julian Popov today held a video call with Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets.

The two ministers discussed options to support Ukraine in recovering from the environmental challenges resulting from the military actions in the country.

Minister Strilets committed to provide Bulgaria with weekly data from environmental monitoring in Ukraine, including from the area of the Nova Kakhovka dam.

The Ukrainian Minister noted that in order to objectively inform the population about the state of environmental aspects, the Government of Ukraine has developed an application, which is freely available at https://ecozagroza.gov.ua/.

Earlier in the day, Minister Popov also held a video call with the Romanian Minister of Environment and Forestry Mircea Fechet.

During the conversation, the ministers exchanged information on the continuous monitoring conducted on the territory of Bulgaria and Romania. It was agreed that the two ministries would exchange monitoring results on a daily basis. So far, monitoring done by both countries show that there is no present or expected deterioration in Black Sea water quality.
