Problems in the EEА and related urgent decisions are among the priority tasks for Minister Asen Lichev

The problems in the Executive Environment Agency (EEA) and the necessary urgent decisions are among the first priority tasks for the new Minister of Environment and Water Asen Lichev. The Minister will visit the EEA, whereby he will introduce his advisor on issues pertinent to the activity of the Agency.

Minister Lichev will hold a meeting with the EEA Executive Director to discuss current issues and the most urgent necessary actions to be taken.

The Executive Environment Agency is an administrative entity under the Minister of Environment and Water, whose functions relate to environmental control and protection in Bulgaria. The Agency drafts and manages the National Environmental Monitoring System and the information on the condition of environmental components and factors on the territory of the entire country.

Meanwhile, the recent director of the Legal Directorate at the Ministry of Environment and Water has been reinstated, a chief of staff and a secretary general have been appointed.
