In response to the numerous inquiries by the media, we would like to clarify that the EMEPA has no capacity to carry out payments for the costs of investment projects, due to the expenditure ceiling of 70 million BGN for this year imposed by the State Budget Act.

Funds are available in the EMEPA bank account, but once the ceiling is reached in the third trimester, it will be impossible to pay out the remaining expenses in the amount of 20 million BGN until the end of the year. They can be rescheduled for as early as 2022. This can be avoided only by updating the state budget and increasing the expenditure ceiling for the EMEPA.
